Side hustle

Repair on the side, while keeping your day job

Take a few jobs a week — screens, batteries, simple faults — using evenings and weekends. Lowest risk, lowest commitment.

This is for you if

  • You have a full-time job or are studying and want extra income on the side
  • You're handy and patient — phone repair feels exciting, not scary
  • You can spend 5–10 hours a week on jobs and still keep your main income
  • You'd rather start small and grow than borrow money to open a shop

This isn't for you if

  • You expect a fixed monthly salary — side jobs come in waves, not paychecks
  • You don't want to deal with customers directly (chats, expectations, complaints)

Your timeline

  1. 1

    Day 1–6

Finish Basic iPhone or Basic iPhone+Android course

  2. 2

    Week 2

Take your first paid jobs from friends and family at cost or small markup

  3. 3

    Month 1–3

Build a small WhatsApp / Facebook Marketplace customer base

  4. 4

    Month 6

Steady weekend / evening flow; reinvest profit into better tools

What your week looks like

You hold your day job. After work or on weekends a customer DMs you on WhatsApp — broken iPhone screen. You quote, agree, fix it on your kitchen table or at a coffee shop in 45 minutes, get paid in cash or e-wallet. Two or three of these a week is normal.

Honest reality check

Income is not steady — some weeks zero jobs, some weeks five. Parts cost money upfront and a botched repair eats your profit. The first 6 months are about learning the customer side, not just the technical side. People who treat it like a hobby earn hobby money; people who actively post and follow up earn real side income.
