Get hired

Get hired as a full-time technician

Finish a Basic or Intermediate course and apply for a technician role — at one of SPR's 16 branches or any independent shop in Malaysia.

This is for you if

  • You want a stable monthly salary and a clear job title, not freelance uncertainty
  • You're a fresh school leaver, fresh grad, or career switcher with no IT background
  • You're willing to start at junior pay and grow your salary with skill
  • You learn faster watching real shop seniors than reading books

This isn't for you if

  • You're not ready to commute and work standard shop hours (typically 6 days)
  • You expect a high starting salary on day 1 — entry-level technician pay is modest

Your timeline

  1. 1

    Day 1–6

    Finish Basic or Intermediate course

  2. 2

    Week 2

Update your resume; we share open SPR roles + tips for outside applications

  3. 3

    Month 1–2

Interview, trial day, get hired as junior technician

  4. 4

    Month 6–12

Move from junior to standard technician — pay rises with skill and speed

What your week looks like

You arrive at the shop, log devices waiting at the counter, work through repairs in priority order, and explain quotes to customers when needed. Most days are screens, batteries and software — once or twice a week something more interesting (water damage, board-level fault) lands and you learn from it.

Honest reality check

Starting salary is modest — RM 2,000–2,500 range is common at entry level, growing as your repair speed and quality climb. The skill ladder is real: technicians who push into intermediate / advanced repair (board-level, microsoldering) earn meaningfully more. Loyalty + skill is what gets you raises, not just years on the job.
